SIMPLICIO-STYLE GUITARS

Francisco Simplicio was perhaps the most prominent and important luthier in Barcelona in the early 20th century.  As the only pupil of the master, Enrique Garcia, he carried on Garcia’s innovative and exquisite styling.  The Garcia/Simplicio guitars are characterized by an asymmetric 8 fan bracing pattern which adds an additional fan brace to the treble side and feature a massive headstock with an ornately carved ebony faceplate and highly refined mosaic rosettes and purfling.  My Simplicio model is based on the plantilla of Francisco Simplicio’s 1929 #241 instrument.

● European spruce soundboard
● East Indian rosewood back and sides
● Mahogany neck with carved ebony faceplate on the headstock
